Hi, I recently had an idea for a woofer box to replace the rear jumpseats in my 94 ford ranger ext. cab, I was wondering if anyone has heard something like that before, if it would work, and if it has been done before, does anybody know where I could find a box like that for my ranger, thanks for any help ya'll have.
I want to do the same thing, but I still want to be able to use the hinged doors to cover them when not in use. I have even thought of mounting them so that I could remove them when I want to. I have a local guy that will build the boxes, but I am debating if I want to hard mount them or not. I usually look for a local stereo shop to run things by like this. You could also find plans by googling them.
I like that idea of using the hinged covers, I didn't think about that, I've got a buddy that is experienced in box building, so he's going to help me with it, we just have to get the measurements and all that fun stuff, but thanks i just wanted to know if i was the only one thinking that or not, glad to see i'm not the only one.
I have 2 boxes that i stand up against the jump seats until i need to get someone back there. The i lay them down and the seats fold down over op of them. They lay between the floor and the bottom of the seats. Makes for a fun ride for the rear passenger when you turn it up and vibrate their butt. lol
Wish i had a pic to show you what i was talking about.
I know exactly what you mean. A tool box, some clothes, speakers, beach stuff, school stuff.... Cant hardly open the doors without stuff falling out. I do have a toolbox for the bed, but I hardly ever put it in since it weighs so much and takes up so much room.
What i was thinking when i didnt want to kill any space, was to custom make a couple boxes to fit in the area that the seat pull out of. You wont be able to close your seats, and people can still sit back there and you can fit some subs in.
yeah, i'm gonna figure out something, first i have to get the money oh well, i'll get it figured out, might be getting a couple subs from a buddy for cheap, and he'll help me rig up the boxes with me, so yeah, it's a coming, just gotta figure how i want to do it, thanks for helping me build on my ideas
I built a custom down firing box for Ext cab. 2 10 inch subs. I then made a deck to go on top of the amps and CD changer so that nothing is seen from the outside.
The deck is used for my dobie to sit on when she's riding in the truck, and when she's not in there, I can use it to put a few back of groceries or anything else I pick up at the store.
Will need to get some updated pics for the gallery since that sub box is history.
