Does anyone know how to move the wheel in toward the dash. Will a column from something else work? This is a 70 F100.
I'm not a tall person, but the seat is back all the way,and I'd like just a couple more inches of room.
And while were on the subject, would a smaller wheel be easier to turn?
No smaller = harder. That's why big trucks have HUGE wheels, or they used to. I don't have any suggestions but the steering wheel is huge on my truck too. It's a 3 spoke with a little half ring trim deal. My friend with the '72 with P/S has a 2 spoke wheel and it is about an inch larger dia. than mine!
Since we're on the subject of "BIG" steering wheels.... I also got a big one but can't find a "cool" cover for it. (Except fot the wrap around string kind) All the one's I see are for the standard smaller size.

Depending on your shifter, you can use a steering column from '73 to '77. The power steering setup uses a shorter steering column.
I too am looking for a steering wheel cover for my 71....I was wondering if some of the cheaper ones like the Walmart ones might stretch enough to go over the larger wheels...My son says yes, but I am not spending his money...His is on a 69 Chevy, but he has a later model smaller wheel on it.....so....what do you think.....?
