Hello all:
I have a 1977 C-class E-350 23' 78,000 miles running a 460, Currently installing a set of thorley headers, (leaky manifold) The thing runs like a top, compression is good and all else checks out fine, I guess my question is how does the timing chain & gears hold up on this year are they the nylon gears? should I be concerned and be thinking about replacment?
Thanks:
I tore down my ol 1978 class C w/46Ø, at 25,ØØØ, to get the cam back to Ø degrees. Couldn't believe how loose the chain was. I replaced it all with a double row roller chain assy. Mine had a factory nylon cam sprocket. I would think it good preventive maintenance to change the chain and sprockets now.
