wrong hood?

i went to put the hood back on my f-1 after the body work was done and it seems to be too wideby about 3 inches. i think its just a matter of having it bolted to the hinges. have any of you had this prob?

sounds like this

did you check the straight area along the back of the hood that matches the contour of the cowl area, is it bent or bowed ? sometimes if they set flat on the floor stuff happens to cause them to lose the correct shape . also is this the hood that came off the truck or a different hood ? if this is the hood that came with the truck try putting the hood on that might help bring it back in line, but 3 inches is alot of space to compensate for . good luck.

My 55 is a bit wider after taking off the tension rods and having body & paint done. It is about 1/2" per side wider and don't know how to shorten it. Three inches is very strange indeed. Don't see how you will ever compensate that much.
