Transmission Upgrades

Transmission Upgrades
I think the time as come to look a little further into transmission upgrades. Now don't get me wrong - my Sonnex valve and Tri-springs have treated me well but I think I can get more power to the ground than I am now. And in the future I plan on gaining some more HP so - why not upgrade now BEFORE my trans. goes south - and then be all set when I do some more power upgrades.
I was planning on getting a torque converter and the FTVB and doing the install myself (with a mechanic buddy's help) until I was pointed to a local transmission shop. (My buddy had his transmission done there and NO JOKE - his truck STOCK runs like mine on my low chip setting - that's how much power you're loosing with the stock trans!!!
) After talking to this guy - man he knows his stuff. He's done roughly 40 PSD's since the beginning of the year - some just straight re-builds 'casue they were blown, and some just aftermarket beefing. He's got a set-up that he highly reccomends and he uses mostly Transgo products. SO - hopefully in the next couple of weeks I'll be getting it done!!! 
There's no way I can afford a BTS - but I figure that this is as close as I can get for now. Are any of you guys running these kind of upgrades and what are your experiences?? I'd love to get some feedback!! Thanks - o yea - Happy holiday weekend!!!

No - but good guess though!!
Actually it probably isn't too far away from you LuLu!! Benjamin's Transmission Service - almost right at the Rt 23 and Rt 100 intersection - he's south on Rt100 about 100yds from the intersection.With a transmission that's still OK - he does a T/C, a Transgo shiftkit, and a few other things. Nothing too big - but it's in the price range that I can kind-of afford.

Ahhhh yes. I know where you're talking about. Did they give you a quote? Dag on.... with those upgrades and your 671 foot pounds I bet you could chip em' shifting from 1st to 2nd at W.O.T.!
