Ok, I have one more question about the heated TT mirrors with the turn signals in them. In a previous post impy stated that the back cover of the mirror actually holds the lights. The reason I ask is that last week as I was waiting in the center turn lane a knuckle-head in a brand new Dodge clipped my mirror at 50 mph and took off when I chased him. After surveying the damage all that was wrong was the lens was busted and the LED board for the turn signal was broken off, there is no other damage at all. My mirror did not even move, however his was dangling from the window When I called all of my local Ford dealers they said that I had to buy the whole mirror for $300 because the LED was part of the mirror assembly and that if it had only been the lenses that I could have bought the back cover for only $114. So has anyone had to take apart one of these mirrrors and knows for a fact what part the lights are actually in???? Thanks for the info.
SO does anyone know if all the wiring is there for sure to mount the heated mirrors with the lights on them, if the truck did not come with these mirrors from the factory? I was told that the wiring harnesses were all the same and they just used what they needed for which ever mirror was installed, but can anyone verify this with out me having to tear mine all apart to check?
