Swapping To A Big Block
I have an 1987 F-150 with a 5.0L. I plan on swapping it with a 460. I have a C-6 tranny in it. Will the 460 bolt up to the tranny? How hard is the swap. Are there any special small things I might have to change that I don't know about? Does anyone know where I can get a 460 crate motor, or junkie one. Also any good mods for the 460?

The tranny from the 302 will NOT bolt to the 460. Your best bet is to find a vehicle of similar year running the 460 and pull everything from the bumper to the fire wall for your truck...

i am also trying to do a similar thing. im trying to replace my c4 and 351 for a 460 and c6. i have heard something bout needing a mount conversion and shorter tail shaft... sounds good but i don't know if its true?
