Fixed stalling, idling and hesitation problems
We had all of the following problems with our 87 3.0L V6 2WD Aerostar. Low Idling, Hesitation even at Highway Speeds, Stalling when starting out from intersection, Stalling when purposly putting breaks on hard from high speed. We first changed the Air bypass Valve and at the same time noticed the vacuum line going to the map sensor was barely on the sensor. We could hear a very faint leak. We pushed the vacuum line all the way up and didn't hear the leak. We feel that these problems were caused by the loose vacuum line to the map sensor even though the Air bypass valve can cause simular symptoms. This Air bypass valve is also called an Idle air control valve on other vehicles. Hope this helps someone.
