I can't stand the thought of owning a SuperCab Ranger now since they only come in v6 form (I'm not a big fan of the 3.slow or those 4.0 timing chains and their related issues) and they haven't made a 4 cylinder 4x4 SuperCab since the mid 80s!

Doubtful. If you look at the specs, you'll see that the dry weight of the engine is 422kg, which is about 930lbs. That's a pretty heavy engine for the light front suspension of a half-ton. I could see it as a fuel-efficient base engine for a 3/4-ton truck, though.
Good pick up, I didn't notice the weight, I only saw the size of the engine, and the power weight figures, and the fact it would be emissions compliant for the US.
If the figure is correct (does seem a tad large) that is almost as heave as a PSD...
