7.3 All wore out ?

2000 F350, 325,000 miles - Need some information about rebuilding. Motor has very little power and considerable amount of blow-by, but oil consumption is probably less than a quart between oil changes; which is between 3 and 4 thousand miles. If oil consumption is such a small amount, why so much blow-by? Haven't done a compression check yet, maybe that will tell me what I need to know. I've heard compression needs to be around 400 lbs, is this correct? If I rebuild;can I put just rings and bearings? I've seen 7.3's go alot longer, bought the truck used, so do not know that much about it's history. What would the cost be of a rebuild kit? I have found complete motors on E-Bay, around $5, 000 - $6, 000 range, with five to ten thousand miles. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Lots of blow by is always weak piston rings. IMO if you want to fix the problem, with that many miles and an unknown history I would bite the bullet and get a rebuilt. If you can afford it get a complete unit with new injectors, etc.
However the rest of the truck needs to be real nice to make that sort of investment worth it. You can buy good runners for less than it would cost you to fix up a worn out truck.

Yeah time to rebuild. I think it would be a job and half just trying to pull a PSD.

I suggest that you give your local international service department a call for exact prices. Rebuild kits that I have seen are between 1,000 to 1,500 all the kits that I have used have come with everything from freeze plugs to new cams. Then a few of hundred for all the machine work. The PSD isn't the easiest engine to pull.
