2003 cv boot replacement leaks grease
I have a 2003 f150 4x4, 4.6l. I had the upper front axle cv boot punctured and replaced. It has been leaking some grease on the inside side of the boot lip. The retaining strap looks like its in place properly but the grease is leaking underneath the boot edge.It leaked some initially then stoped. But started leaking quite a bit this summmer again. I just had it replaced again a couple weeks ago and it started leaking after a hundred miles like before.
Is excess grease working its way out after it warms up? Or does the boot strap need to be installed tighter?
Any ideas appreciated.
