Evans Cooling

I have been reading about Evans Cooling and the benifits it is supposed to have. So my question is there any reasons I should not use it? I could not find anything in the forums here so I am asking. Well I found one topic but there was not much info on it. Is there anyone running it here?

Only issue would be about your engine warranty if it applies, and the cost of the Evans. Expensive. I looked at it for my PSD and it was going to cost me about $200 to make the change. I think the cost is about $25 a gallon. Also, you have got to be sure you have completely flushed out any other coolant before you add the Evans since there is a compatability problem. Any left over water isn't a problem since one of the things you are supposed to do is drill a 1/8" hole in your radiator cap so the cooling system doesn't pressurize and any water left in the system will be boiled out. You only add the Evans coolant and no water, another reason for the high cost since you are using coolant only and nothing else. However, the benefits are really good for the diesel owner especially being able to run the engine with a higher temperature thermostat which improves efficiency. Over the road trucks run Evans to the tune of about 500K miles before needing to flush and replace. A gasser probably won't get as much benefit but they will get some especially by saving water pumps because the system is not under pressure and there is no corrosion because there isn't any water involved.
