Rear View Mirror Button
Hello Everyon;
New fx4 user. I have been a lurker on here until now.
Could anyone tell me what the Button is for on the Rear View Mirror. I do not have the autosensing mirror. I figured this button was either for turning on the sensor for headlights or a calibrate of some sort like a compass calibrate. Any suggestions would be great. Also Since there seems to be wiring coming down into that box, could I opt to install FORDS rear view mirror with dimming\compass features ?
BTW I did a search in the forums first, but came up with nothing. Also Called the dealership as well as looked at the manual.

Hey Ian, welcome aboard and congrats on the great truck!
Mine IS equipped w/ the auto mirror, and you're right, the buttons are for enabling/disabling the function. I also have the wires running to it, so I don't know how the others (non-auto) are set up. It would seem like a waste of Ford's money to install all that if it's just going to be a plain old mirror! On pg 58 of the owners manual it just describes the auto mirror IF EQUIPPED.
The compass is calibrated using the odometer reset button, explained on page 79(?) On the FX4, the compass display is on the small msg center adjacent to the odometer.
You should be able to have the dealer install the auto-dimming mirror function if yours is already set up for it.

I will go to another dealer and check out the options and accessories. Perhaps its something I can order.
Ohh lots of fun now, I have to apply paint sealer this weekend!
