Lookin' for info.
I am looking for info. on 67-72 trucks . I own a 71 f100 4x4 that sports a np435/dana 21 trans/tcase.It has a 360 FE engine. I want to put a c6 in her. What years and what trans/tcases options do I have. I was told the c6 behind the 360 FE had a dana 21 also not the most revered np205 tcase.Is this so? Can I put a np205 tcase behind a c6 that mates to a dana 21 by changing shafts? I just want to put a c6 behind my FE because of recent knee injury and less abilityt to shift.All help welcome.

worked for me anyway. Just in case... the 390 has the same block so you need a C6 with a bell housing for a 360 or 390. I had to swap the extension housing on the '78 C6 I bought to marry properly to the NP205 i had. I hocked the extension housing form an old bronco. that's the fun of modified though I guess. I have the Ford 9" 10 bolt rear so I can't comment on the Dana 21.. Good luck!

Sorry if I caused any confusion Go71 or didn’t get your question.
My truck was built from a 2wd so doesn’t represent factory for 67-72 4x4s.
I just wanted to say that if you were looking for a C6 to bolt onto a 360/90 look for ~’78 C6. Someone else may be able to tell you all of the C6 tcase options.. np205 is definitely one of them.

basically find an auto 4x4 from 67-79 that has the tranny and transfer and rip em out cuz they will work if you can get the drive lines.
all the 67-72 4x4 trucks did come with a dana 21 tansfer (yuck) it is rock solid and small but those are about its only good points. i have to back up like thirty to forty feet to get mine to come out of 4x4 glad i just bought me a donor truck with an np205
