sorry bout that i dont know the year she just said its the older kind. im doing this for a friend and she doesnt know and im not into the escort thing so i couldnt tell thanks

If they are round they are 6.5'' if they are rectangular they are 6x8s.

You sure it runs 6x8's back there with the old body? My friend did his complete stereo system in his Escort GT with Infinity, and he had to buy 4x6's, and Im pretty sure they didn't go in the doors. This was like a 1992 I think?

Go look at the car, and either get the vin and run the free check at carfax.com, or look on the door sticker for the date of manufacture.
