Well I just recieved my Predator today. The only bad thing is I am at work and don't get off till' 7am. I installed it this afternoon between runs behind the station. The install is a breeze, it took maybe 10 minutes tops. The only major problem is that I can't go drive it and test it out till' the morning. I'll let ya'll know how it does.
On your way home stop by your favorite tire store and put a new set of tires in lay-a-way. I advise you to do this because I know the Predator boys will not buy them for you. Dang it.
Not necessary for him to, Frost13....
we that have one KNOW the Woot, and the WOW, and the Yippees, and the predator grin that will be pasted on his face from now on
But my silly fun grin has evolved after having this OLD 03 X and the predator for SO long....
it's now a mischievous grin timing red lights and looking for Hemi's and hot shoes to leave them in our smoke !!!!
just had a small something try to cut me off at the merging lane last night...
He's drops the clutch early on the light and gets his rear in front of me enough that I noticed his DUALS
so the game was on - for a second or two...
he's rowing gears trying to get in front as I push the pedal down ....
at that low of boost in the 100hp mode...
mine has a tendency to emit a "bit" of smoke at aggressive throttle settings...
went by him in about a second and a half and he had to back off from the smoke
Well I got off work a little while ago and all I can say is Woot, and the WOW, and the Yippee all hit the nail on the head!!!!!!!!! I am still taking it easy though to let the trans re-learn the shifts, they feel way different than the stock setting. I can't wait to open it up all the way and see how it feels. I installed the 65 hp setting. I also need to get on hwy 59 late one night and test out how it is without that speed governer holding me back. Before in stock it doesn't take much to hit the limiter so I can only imagine for now what it's like with this beast loaded in the truck.
"Told you so "
Remember the speed limiter was put there for a reason... our tires are not speed rated...
so make sure they are in good shape and aired up properly to get some measure of safety before you start pushing 140 or so
the 65hp is what I run around in 99.9% of the time for fuel economy, etc...
but have been in the "beast" mode (100hp) for the lat couple of weeks...
I still don't get all the smoke? I know that there have been other guys posting, mostly with the Predator but some SCMT too, about leaving some James Bond like cloud of smoke behind them when they really get into it, but I just don't see that with my truck.
There have been only two times that I've noticed where I left a puff of smoke when taking off at full throttle. They certainly weren't enough to obscure vision.
Sounds like excess fueling and something that would reduce fuel mileage and perhaps raise EGTs??
Definetly is excess fueling...
and it's only when you tromp on it from low rpms...
now I do have the stock air filter and it may be on it's last legs.... but am checking that today...
it just DUMPS fuel in there to get er goin....
and until the boost comes up to "catch up" with enough air to burn it - out the exhaust it goes...
the excess fuel will actually LOWER egt's due to the cooling effects of the unburnt fuel

Do you run your SCMT on Hi Perf? Mine smoked quite a bit on high performane mode...
The Edge smokes BAD at takeoff; but it responds almost instantaneously...
More low boost fuel = quicker response
The throttle on stage 5 with the attitude is just as responsive as my old gas truck...
I have been driving it for a couple days now and it seems like it has learned the shifts again and smoothed out a little. The 3rd to 4th seems a little rough though. has anyone else experienced this with the 3rd to 4th shift???? Other than that this thing is great, it has really woken this engine up. Not like it was asleep prior to the Predator but WOW. Last night I was on Hwy 59 and merged left to pass a big rig and before I knew it I was just a hair over 100 mph!!! Ya really have to whatch out with this thing.
