Front axle swap
I have a 1996 F250 4x4 with the infamous split front axle. I'm having internal problems with needle bearings which I've been quoted up to $1500 to repair.
Since everyone agrees that it's a poor design anyway, and since it already had leaf springs, is there a kit to install a one-ton mono-beam axle?

Seems to be alot of guys doing this swap lately on here. Enquire about it on the 'Offroad' forum and you'll likely get alot of detailed info on how to do it. There is also a write-up on it in the 'tech articles' section of this website.
