'89 F350 7.3 stalling problem

when going down the road it runs fine untill you push in the clutch at a stop light. If you push in quickly the rpm will go from about 1500-1200 down to under 500 and then stall. Will restart fine and then everything is ok. If you push in the clutch slowly and feather the gas it will only drop down to 700-800 rpm and it is fine. Any ideas? Also should mention that I let a neighbor borrow it to haul some round bales with and when I got it back he had filled both tanks with farm diesel. It didn't run rough untill just after swiching to the rear tank. I have changed the fuel filter and checked the injectors, put in new fuel and diesel guard. Any ideas?

Unless the farm diesel was out of a rusty tank or was full of water it should be fine in there. Did you check for junk in the filter you changed?

My 88 does the samething but not as bad. I still need to change the fuel filter and do some other work to it.

I'd be leaning toward water in the fuel and got past the filter. Load it up with a rich dose of diesel kleen or something to remove the water ... AFTER YOU CHANGE THE FILTER. Best carry filters along too. It just seems that the farm and equipment fuel storage tanks get lots of water into them. Good luck.
