I guess I'm a half breed Ford owner today (94 Mazda w/2.3l) with many previous Fords under my belt.
I purchase many, to all my parts from the local Ford Dealership. For the most part all Ford Ranger engine, brake etc.. parts are the true fit. There is some minor exceptions. The temp. sensor is located in same postion and looks the same. The only differance is that the wiring harness on the Mazda is a double prong and the Ford is a single prong.
Here's the kicker, the Ford part is $11.00 compaired to the Mazda part @ $40.00.
Did they see me coming or did they call for me!!!!
That's my #1 complaint with foreign cars, and you probably couldn't get that part form the aftermarket anyway, Dealer Item Only. Heard that phrase a time or two...
The Ford part is internally grounded to the block (cheaper). The Mazda part is grounded at the computer (more accurate). You could probably make the Ford part work but it may give the Mazda computer erratic readings. The Ford computer program probably has some software noise reduction code.

Like the EGR on your van? ^_^
You know that GL4 gear lube I bought when we stopped? Never made it to my transmission. I switched back to ATF, and used the gear oil to kill hornets by flooding their nests (like 4 of them) at our old house. I think I always miss one nest though...
I think all dealers will mug you in the alley when they can. How about paper gaskets and rubber seals for engine parts? Or anything to do with electrical?
