After further investigation and using some valuable information I obtained from this cool site, I have determined that I am getting a code from the airbag light that is totally nuts.... The light flashes in a series of first three blinks followed by two blinks. This tells me that the passenger side airbag is inoperable, but there is no passenger side airbag on this van. Would I be able to remedy my light flashing by disconnecting the battery for about ten minutes or so and re-connecting the current afterwards ?
You can try the battery disconnect, but as far as I know pre 2000 air bag systems don't retain codes in memory so the only way to turn off the light is to find an fix the problem. It is possibe that you might not get the same code back again. Try it and see what happens.
>Hi. A code "32" on an Aerostar is "Driver side air bag
>circuit high resistance or open."... NOT passenger side.

Hey Ken, thank you for your input on that code. This website is good because people can find out some really critical information on thier vehicles. Again, thanks...
Jim,
You're most welcome. Hope the info helps. If you need more in chasing your problem, just post here. I have schematics, etc for the air bag system on the Aero.
I didn't ask before... does your horn work properly? Very common for the clockspring behind the steering wheel to fail.. when that happens, the horn and the air bag go out... of course, only the air bag gives you an indication on the dash...
