Factory/Dealer A/C Problems
I know someone who has a 73 F250 crew cab with a factory/dealer a/c unit. It does have a ford sticker on the unit. Now, it works, but blows a fuse all the time. Anyone have a idea of what could be causing this problem?

my first guess is that there is a short in the wiring, but, does the fuse blow only when it is on? if so, then the circut could be being over loaded. there is probably something piggybacking the same circut. or its the ac thats piggybacking. i would check the wiring for shorts and at the same time, look for electrical componants that dont work when that fuse is blown.

The blower motor might be gunked up or under too much load. I took one apart from an aftermarket a/c and the motor had a hard time turning and never reached full speed until I cleaned it up and oiled it. now it reaches full speed and blows more air than ever.
