I need a cheap yet good 4.25" crank. Anyone have any ideas?
If you are curious: I am now building a 4x4. 49x21x17.5 tires, rockwells, C6, NP205 trasfer case and a 92 F250 body on my 76 frame. Hence the need for more torque. I ran some numbers and with a 4.25 crank (445.5 cid) I will make 500+lbs. from 2000 to 6000rpm. I wish DD didn't start at 2000rpm. It should be making good torque off idle thouh.
Keith Craft sells the Scat 4.25 cast cranks. I think they were around $700. Unfortunately nobody sells a forged crank for us FE guys, so the next step is a billet unit at around $2700.
What happened to your drag truck? Are you still building it too?
Never thought of that. I am just going to build a Monster of a truck. Considering where I live It is More conduceive to wheeling than drag racing. Amd my hole family can particapate in the fun.
