What exactly is the difference between a convential axle (code 24) and a traction loc (B4)? Also, how can you tell if a van has the tow package?

Traction lok is similar to a limited slip, transfers power to the wheel with more traction. It's standard on, at least later years, with the towing package. I think the towing package also included a wiring harness and a heavy duty flasher but not much else, if anything as I recall. Maybe someone can explain the traction lock a little better?

So basically if a van had the conventional axle with 3.73s, it would probably tow just fine without the tow package? This is on a 96 if it matters.

Probably...that's a good ration, what's the trailer weight and what engine size do you have? Also, is it a shorty or extended and is it all wheel drive?
