Front End Noise 4x4
1997 F-150 4X4. I have a clicking noise comming from the front end at the left side of the transfer case. The noise sounds metalic and speeds up with travel speed. On a lift I can hear it when I spin the front left wheel and it sound like it comes from the area of the transfer case bearing or seal. The transfer case oil is full and he sound does not change when it is in 4WD. Any suggestions.

I had the same problem with my F350, but wasn't able to fix it till the transfer case exploded while I was driving. The people at the ford garage told me, my front drive shaft was bent and/or twisted, and caused the problem. You may want to take it in for warranty work before you're left stranded on the middle of a road.
