I just found a rusty brake line in my 92 F150 4x4 with about 100k miles. After reading posts here, I plan on replacing the entire set with a SS set from InlineTube.Com. Question is this: Now that a brake line has rusted out, what else should I replace as well, just to be on safe side?
1. Rear wheel cylinders?
2. Front calipers?
3. Master cylinder?
I plan on doing all the work myself and I have a friend with a power bleeder.
I just called InlineTube.Com and they said they DO NOT have the exact brake line replacement that I need. For some reason, their brake lines are only "guaranteed" to fit 87-90 F150's, not 91 or 92. Figures, mine is a 92.
Soooo, does anyone know another potential supplier of reproduction brake lines, perferable stainless steel besides InlineTube.com?
I don't have a comment about the supplier, but you should check the system checked out. You don't have to replace everything, just what's needed. Pull the dust boots off the wheel cylinders, and check for fluid leakage internally. Also check the calipers out good, and inspect for leaks around the ABS valve.
