I'm researching the various ECU code readers and programmers to purchase for my '03 Escape, 3.0L, V6, a/t and (if possible) '01 F250, 7.3 PSD, a/t, 4X4, super cab. I know all do some but is there a single device that does all of the following?
Which one:
1. Has the most settings.
2. Upgradeable.
3. Adjusts ECU for tire and gear size changes.
4. Adjusts shift points.
5. Plugs in to port for programing and is removed when mods are completed. 6. Also, can it pull codes from my Ford truck as well as my '03 Escape?
There's only one programmer currently for the Escape: the Superchips Custom Microtuner 9100. It can everything you need in that charge, except program the 7.3L. www.Motorhaven.com can custom program one for you. Or a Diablo Sport 2 or 3 stage chip.
For then 7.3L its a toss up between the Diablo Predator and the Superchips Microtuner. The Predator has more features, the Superchips supports more year.
