Question 351w-302

I was wondering if there is any way to tell a 351w and a 302 apart buy just looking at the engine. I looked at a engine and i was told it was a 351 but there is no stickers or tags to tell me.
thanks

Look at the front of the block where the water pump bolts to the block. The 302 top bolt is only about 1/2" from top of block. The 351 is about 1 1/2" from the top of block. Good luck.

Also a 351w intake is wider than a 302 intake and the 351's cylinder banks are closer to 90* than a 302's to compensate for the 351's longer stroke.

^ both 302 and 351 are 90 degree engines. They are pretty much exactly the same except for deck height (which necessitates a wider intake manifold)...
