Believe issue is whether compatible with the radiator support. The come with front and rear mounting flanges. I had the 240ci with rear flange mount radiator. The radiator was forward of the flange and set inside the radiator core. Measured about 23 3/4" X 2'. According to Hollander, the largest rear and front mounted flange radiators are 26 1/4" wide X 2" thick. The V8 radiator came in a 2 5/8" thick, but you need to make sure is compatible with the support. Again according to Hollander, the 65 4X2 radiator support, and the 66 4X4 are same. The 65 4X4 support is different. If you should get notion about changing core supports you may want to post and perhaps can save you a big headache. I would stongly suggest, if your radiator needs repair, you take the original in and have the shop recore to your measurements. I swapped to short block V8 and ran it with the original radiator for years, still had problem getting temp to move off cold and getting the cab to heat up on cold morning.
Not sure if answered your question, hopefully other members can provide additional info.

I took my 300 cid radiator out of my 65 and but it in my 66 which has a 240 engine; the only consideration is ensuring your upper and lower hose intake and return are in same location as your old one. Once I pulled my 300 out of my 65 I replaced it with a 302 V-8; I purchase a new radiator from a local Advance auto and the only retro I had to do was cut a small incision on the upper portion of the radiator support on both sides; the bolt pattern lines up with the old holes; just ensure that your hose's are clear and your fan is center; would be the best advise I could give. There are more intelligent members here than me, for sure.
Hope this helps;
My 66 with 240 has a 390 radiator in it. issue with that was stepping down the hoses from radiator to pump, radiator ports are bigger than the 240 pump. works fine after that for me.
I bought one for my 66' F-250 brand new from my local auto parts store no problem. I was having a cooling problem and when I bought the new one it was much bigger than the old one, which leads me to think it wasn't original to the truck. It took care of the cooling problem. Both the large rad and the small rad both bolted up fine.
