Now a little while ago i asked about doing a cheapo lift doing things like relocating brackets and such. Anyway i have decided that i will do a shackle flip in the rear as well as moving the hanger down 2-4 inches, for the front i will move the shackles and hangers down 2-4 inches as well as making new pivot brackets and moving the shocks mounts down the approiate amount (the brackets are only bolted to the frame so that will be easy)
Anyway i have just recieved an E-350van and for an addition 2inches i want to add the 2 long leafs in the spring packs to the front packs already on the truck and the 3 short leafs to the rear spring packs. Now my question is, is this worth the trouble to do cause the lift and the improved spring rates (current springs are pretty saggy) sure sound pretty good, and second what kind of ride is this going to give me? Mind you this truck is only for the mud and trails, it is not street driven at all (it isn't even registered).
What kind of ride? Take the term add a leaf, and substitute brick for leaf, far too stiff for off road use(unless you like being airborne for no good reason...)
At most, I'd add one leaf per corner.
it is easy enough you outta just try it! not like you can't go back! but like 82f100 said it will be stiff as a brick! what you wanna do is find a whole bunch of THIN leaves of different lengths! then you can custom build a good ridin set of leaf packs
