When you switch on your headlights, the indicators are powered by a different fuse and goes through the dimming module. This is true of several of the indicator lights, but I don't have my wiring diagram with me so I can't say which ones. Check the fuses to the dimming module or the module itself.

had the same problem here with the headlight on and the 4wd light going out. Took it to the place where i bought the truck and they traced it to a broken wire going to the computer. they fixed it and it has been great since. I have also seen links to bad headlight switches causing this but they tried a new one didnt fix it. as well as multifunction switch causing the problem. If you get into the part swapping it can get costly but sometimes that is the only thing you can do. They first sent it to a radio guy they deal with that is the "king" but he diagnosed it as a bad light switch The mechanic just put in a new wire with an inline fuse to fix it. Buy a multimeter and get a good wiring diagram and pull the dash apartand have fun.
