I ahve a 95 F150 xl with the inline 6. My shocks are still relatively good, especially for the originals, I want to get the same ride out of the new ones as the ones I have now. I wasn't paying attention and took a speed HUMP at 25 instead of 10. The front went over just fine and the back end seemed almost to "float" over the hump, never bouncing or bottoming out. I know the shocks will need to be replaced soon as they are covered in rust and look ready to pop a hole. If I go to FORD will I get the exact same one or is there another brand that I can get to give the same tough performance without costing me thousands of dollars?
just curious, how many miles on those originals? let me know if they actually have any rebound when you remove them. my father thought his shocks were perfect until i pulled one off, compressed it and it just stayed still. Sensatrack's sound good for your wants.
They have 84,000, they are originals, I can step on the bumper and jump off, the truck goes up, down, and then stops, which is normal according to everything I have ever heard of and learned. Each corner does the same thing, and over all the ride is great, but I would love to replace them since they are original and starting to rust. SO will FORD give me the same thing or will I be better off with a different company?
