programmer timing advance

programmer timing advance

I keep reading about the star shaped patterns on top of the pistons
due to timing advance that the programmers cause. Just how much
timing advance takes place when the programmers are used? I am only using
the 45 hp mode from the Predator. I am considering after the camping
season is over(after Thanksgiving) returning my truck to stock. I use
the Predator strickly in the 45 hp mode. I do not want to try the other
modes, they might be more addictive .

MAN - you've got more self control than 99.9% of us then....

of course...
I've not run it in the 45hp mode yet...
I suppose it may be like the 65hp is to the 100hp....
just as much responsiveness but a little MORE SO !!

But I KNOW I wouldn't be pleased with stock now....
sorta like asking me to go from my 2.4Ghz pc back to an XT
NOT gonna happen

I'm not sure of the exact amount of timing each device uses. Both programmers (the SCMT and Predator) use more timing than the boxes; however as far as I know the Edge box uses more than anything. The custom DPS, or Quad boxes use the least, but use more fuel and boost.

Running the truck on 45 or 65 mode is very unlikely to leave ANY sort of evidence against you...

The problems start when you start running up the timing at the levels where I destroyed my engine, ie. around 10-15 degrees before top dead center. Very potent.
