I have a f150 2002 4 door with 4.6 and 3.55 rear and aux cooler. I also have the heavy duty battery and heavy shocks. My question is, has anyone pulled a TT with this style truck and how was the ride. I'm planning on buying TT around
5500# gvw. I need imput. Cann't get rid of my truck she's my baby with a flam'in paint job. Wasn't planning on buying a TT.
Contact Ford to get the tow ratings for that truck. Also, Trailer Life publishes tow ratings and had a book listing tow ratings for most vehicles. You need the ratings before you can decide on what weight trailer you can pull safely with that truck.
I have a 99 Expedition with a 4.6 and 355 diff. The book says a little over 5000#. The front face of the trailer can change that. The bigger it is the more wind resistance. Check with Ford. 5500# will be pushing it, and the suspension. Good luck.
2002 F150 Supercrew (4 door?) with 4.6, 3.55 GCVW 11,500lbs Max tow 4x2=6600lbs 4x4=6200lbs. Because of the extremely short bed Supercrews are not recommended for 5th wheel towing.
If by 4 door you meant Super cab the towing max is 300lbs more. GVWR is the same.
I think you would be happier towing if you stay well below the maximums.
