352 Build up

Has Anyone Ever Built Up A 352, I Know It The Runt Of The Pack But I Am Buying A 67 P/u And Want To Keep It Somewhat Original, Ford Rated The 352 With The 4 Bbl And 10/1 Compresstion At 360hp, I Think That With A .030 Over Bore And Edel Intake, Cam And Carb A Diy Head Port And Polish And A 10.5 Compression I Could Make About 390-400hp What Do You Guys Think.

Hi! Welcome to the site!

I think that's a little over-optimistic for the 352, anytime you get over 1 hp per cubic inch is doing pretty darn good. Also, that factory 360 hp rating is questionable too.

The RPM package might be a little big for the little big block. As the cubes get smaller the same cam gets more wilder. Why not shoot for something more conservative like 300 hp and a nice flat torque curve. For more power I'd start with a bigger motor.

Darn Was Hoping For More Horses But Really Set On The Little Big Block, Guess Cause I Had One In My Teens. How Could I Push The Envelope A Bit Maybe 320-340hp?, Chevy Guys Do It All The Time With A Small Block. Same Bore And Stroke Isn't It.

Yes you can. You could squeeze almost 320HP out with a Crane 941 and RPM intake and head porting etc.My FE352 puts out around 310HP and 390ftlbs and thats with a RPM intake which the machine shop had to port for me, and a 901 cam. But the most popular FE's are 390's and they make way more when you upgrade them. The 352 is a great engine and you could get 400HP if you wanted to, but its kinda a waste since the 352 and 390 get pretty much same mileage the 390 goes way further. Ford did have a 360HP 352 in 1960 in a fairlane. It was fast and wild, and had a solid roller cam, big intake (dont know which kind) and other stuff. For the same amount of money you dump into a 352 you could go make the 390 have 100 more HP. The 352 is a truck engine and its great but its not the best choice for massive hotrodding.

Actually, all other things being equal (cam, head flow, compression ratio) the 390 and the 352 will make approximately the same hp. The 390 will just do it at a lower rpm, with a higher torque curve.

Any Body With Desktop Dyno, I'm Waiting On Mine. What Would The Engine Make With A .030 Overbore, Edel Performer Package Not Rpm. Headers, And Diy Head Porting And Polishing Making Sure To Port Match The Intake Also. Is The Performer Package Different For The 352 And The 360, If So I Would Order The 360 Since The Displacement With The Overbore Comes To 357.
