Anybody ??? with propane knowledge?
I have been experiencing some problems with it starting and I am not sure what is at fault. It does start....just not again after it stalls out (usually in reverse when the engine is not totally warm yet). If it didn't start on the first few attempts( or did, then died).....the van will not start for many hours of sitting and resting..... I must mention that I can smell propane ( but not too much)when it dies, but I am not real familiar with troubleshooting propane systems and therefor am not sure if this is a normal occurance.
Some days....never a problem...other days..its a no go. It all started when I washed the exterior one day....I don't think I sprayed any excessive water around the tank, hoses, or even under the hood....is there any common problems with water or rain and how propane systems work?
Since the problem began...I have replaced the rotor cap, pcv, plugs, wires, oil and oil filter...I plan on replacing a few more small things on this van.... but other than this one problem....it runs totally great.
To me...its seems like a problem with the fuel system...since everything else seems to be working. Is it the filter? pump? lines? valves? or what...I don't Know!
Are there any items that you can think of that will alleviate my problems or is it just best to take it to a shop that I don't know and have them ($-LooK-$) at it?
Sorry this is so long, but I figured all the details might help a knowledgeable person diagnos the problem better online!
Thanks a bunch in advance for ANY tips!
for now......I cleaned a bunch of stuff...and set the idle a little higher......it
doesn't stall anymore, but it is getting too much propane..........
again.......thanks for sharing your knowledge.
