I have a '96 XLT that was originally equipped with a stock radio (non-JBL) and standard antenna. I put an Alpine head unit in and bought a power antenna from Ford. When I went to put the antenna in, I noticed it says not to hook it up directly to a power source. The antenna cable goes to the back of the head unit, but I have two other cables I don't know what to do with. (1: green/yellow 2: red) I thought one was power, and the other was ground. Has anyone done this install? If so, how? I was told I might need a power antenna module from an Explorer with a JBL system just to use it. Is this true? Any help is appreciated.
Most aftermarket radios have a wire for the power antenna check your wireing harness on the alpine head unit to check...
