I have a 1996 Ford F150 XLT 4X4 super cab. Was just wondering the name of the color of paint. I believe the codes are PS / TS. It is a green color. The color that comes close is a DEEP JEWEL GREEN. Want to by a touch up paint for it. Thanks for any help.
WOW n578md,,, thanks so very much for the fast reply. You were very helpfull. Yea, it is a sharp color combo. Very clean truck, I just got it about a month ago. Paid $7500, 95,000 miles. Had to replace rear gas tank though.
1995 ans 1996 are probably the best years for that body style. What engine and transmission are in it? I had a 1994 F150 reg cab long bed 4x2 with the 300 I6 and E4OD. It was the ugly Medium Calypso Green color though. I tried to find one the color you have but wasn't able to. The only chronic problem I had with my truck was front brake pull. The calipers had to be greased every 3000 miles or it would pull hard to the right. In 1995, they supposedly changed the brake design to eliminate the problem. Was your rear gas tank rusted out or was it just punctured?
It has the 5.0L (302) and the code for the transmission is U. The rear gas tank was rusted. I believe around the seams. I hear this is a common problem with Fords.
U is the 4R70W. It's a pretty descent transmission. I guess you're from up north. I've never had any fuel tank rust here in Texas. You could have gotten a plastic replacement from JC Whitney I guess. My '03 F250 has a 38 gallon plastic tank, no rust worries here.
