Thumbs up Horsepower Differences??

So if the 99 v-10 has 285H.P and the 2000 has 315H.P What did they do differently? Can I update the motor or make that horsepower up somehow?? I wouldn't mind a bit more power out of it. Thanks Rob

Rob,
I believe the 99 makes 265 HP and 410 lbs. trq., 2000 -2004 310 HP and 425 lbs. trq.
The difference is in the cams, ECU, and maybe the heads(not sure). The cost/results to do the upgrade would not be worth the investment. Just my opinion.
You could add exhaust, intake, tuner, Banks Power pack. All theses will increase power to some degree. How strong is the 99 motor? How many miles? The condition of the motor will determine what, if any mods should be done.

It has 103,000 miles. It runs great except for the hesitation, while just cruising along if you push just a little on the gas you get a little hesitation. Which I think are just bad plugs. I am putting plugs in this weekend so hopefully cure that problem. anyway exhaust, chip I don't know????

Sorry Ken,
I didn't want to try and write a dissertation on power adding options.
Maybe I'm not clear if you can add a link to another web site.
