Greetings from Houston
Hi y'all. Am finally becoming more of a Texan by getting my first truck. It's a '98 F-150 Supercab with the 4.6L engine. Much much nicer ride than the '83 Volvo it replaced! Still getting used to the size. Currently changing fluids/filters/plugs/wires etc. to get it ready for its next life with me. Glad to join this forum. As a dedicated DYI'er it should save me alot of grief and $$ by listening to what other folks have gone through...

Houston we had a problem
I live out in Katy and work downtown (I take the bus, much better than driving I-10 every day!). True story: had the truck 2 days and actually drove it downtown as I had to go to the airport at noon. Parked on a surface lot downtown and had the aftermarket, by previous owner, Sony CD player stolen out of the dash. Nothing was smashed or broken, it was just gone. They even re-locked the truck before they left. Since replaced with a removable faceplate version to deter such incursions in the future.
