v-10 for F-150

If you are really set on a V-10. For the price of the motor, the work, and more likely than not...the aggravation of having to keep fixing things that you didnt know about from the begining...(I'm gonna get shot for this),
go out and get a Dodge SRT10. But if you like to play and build and have another vehicle for a daily driver...then go for it.
Take pictures tho...would be great for a good buildup article.

Hot Rod magazine had an article putting a V10 in either a Crown Vic or a Marauder. Might be worth looking up if you're serious. From what I remember it made a great swap, (less weight). I was wondering the same thing about a V10 in a F150, 1000 pounds less, should haul!

How can you be 1000 lbs. lighter by going from a V8 to a V10??

try mearsuring the v-10 and 5.4 take the differance and that will be the amount of additional room that you'll need in front of the existing engine, next look into if the bolt pattern's are the same for the transmission's, then look into the cost of a v-10 donor truck for the parts and computer,wiring...ect. ect....oh don't forget re-setting steering set-up to handle the change in the weight position, plus the springs......hmmmm for all the time and effort...you might be better off dumping all that money into building the heck out of the 5.4.....with all the bells and whistles....

probably meant the weight saving from the F250 vs the F150.
but that also brings up all the heavyduty parts that a F250 has that the F150 dosent.......me i might be more inclined to use a F250LD for the heavier suspension and brakes but still have the looks of a F-150.....just my .02's
