dial indicator, depending on how good of one you get can range from $20 to $200 and a base for it to attach it to the diff housing. Some people will also say you need special tools to know how thick of a shim you need to set the pinion depth, but you can get it with trial and error.
As for the size, look at the rear cover. If it looks like a square with rounded corners it's an 8.8. If it's an irregular shape, almost like a kite on its side, it's a 9.75.

If my memory serves me correctly, Fabtech only makes a large lift kit for a truck like mine. In the tune of 7". I'm looking for 4" max making my truck 7" taller than stock. I would rather not remove the body lift but I may have to. Or, I may just get bigger tires for a 6-7" susp. lift on top of the BL. Who knows.
Yes, 4.56 would be better than 4.10. I calculated 4.10 for 33" tires. 4.56 will come out to around a 3.73 I believe with 35" tires.
