glow plug relay?
Hey all,
Anybody know which solenoid on the 99 powerstroke is the one for the glow plugs? There are two beside each other, and if I remember/traced it right, it is the one to the rear.

The taller of the two should be the glow plug relay and will be toward the front if I recall correctly. The other one is for the intake heater - if you follow the output wire for the one to the rear it should go to the aluminum intake tube mounted by the firewall on top of the engine which indicates it is not the glow plug relay. They are not interchangeable.

Hey man good to see you. Question: corresct me if I am wrong does the 99 have an intake heater? I really have not taken a good look at the 99's but I thought that was added in 2001. I could be wrong just curious. But if it does how come you haven't got ride of that thing yet?

I dont know if it has one or not, I have never dealt with them at all. There are two solenoids to the passenger side of the fuel filter, but I havent really looked too hard. I think I am getting a oil leak, after letting it set all night, it smokes blue and idles rough for a few seconds, then clears up. I was going to put on the 21.00 NAPA solenoid more for preventative maintaince.
Can you dump an intake heater? I figured it would be nice to have in the cold. I know you PFDs guys dont freeze, but we do.
I could also use a tire size chart. I lifted the front end up 3", and am pondering the 295 vs 285 tire thing. Any advice?
