285's need at least an 8" wide rim... Ford gave us 7.5".. I went through this crap years ago with 6.5" rims on a 84 F250HD. It came with 235 x 85r x 16E rated(80lbs). I put 255 x 85r x 16's Dunlap Radial Rover RV's under it... I had to run them at 35(rear) and 40(front) to get them to wear flat...
