Help, my window has come out!

Today while cruising I start to hear this rattling sound from the door, when I stop the window appears to be coming out (straight down but still in the track) So it's dark and I said I'll look at it when I get home. So I get home and look at it, it's come off on the piece that slides up/down. I put it back in and put the window up, that worked alright but when you put the window down again it stays up but the piece that moves down moves down, the window doesnt stay latched in it....How does it stay latched? I want to know what to look for before I start tinkering with it tomorrow.

I just replaced the vent windows and the side windows in my '50'. What you need is some Glass setting Tape, pull the window out, clean out the old tape then put the tape on the glass and press the channel onto the tape and glass. Try Early Ford V8 Sales (www.earlyford.com) as they have the tape. Their part # is B-37193-D. It is $9 for 25 feet. If you only need enough to do one window, send me an e:mail and I will send you what you need as I have some left over.

HI,if you take out the tracks/mechs, clean them up, service all the moving parts, clean your glass then silicone will also work. I did mine over two years ago and have had no problems. Bob
