I have 2 18" Pyle Subs that are a little bit older and in the box are also 2 mini tweeters and speakers. I am running a Pyle amp pushing out 2400 watts ..... My question is on my amp i have the low bandpass for just bass and high bandpass for bass and vocals....When i turn the amp on the low the bass hits nice but you can barley hear the words from the stock speakers. I was wondering if i go out and buy 4 speakers to replace the stock ones and just wire them into the head unit will that make any difference or am i still going to not hear the vocals that much just the bass because i would really like the bass to hit hard but still be able to hear the words over the bass ....
do you have your mids and highs on the amp also? if you do, turning on the lowpass filter will cut all frequencies above the set frequency. just wire them to your head unit and cross them over around 80hz and you will be set.

ok just going out and buying new speakers isnt going to solve anything if you just hook them up to the head unit, the best thing to do would be buy a 4-channel amp run the speakers through high level input on it, or you could adjust the gain on the amp, and turn it down a little, and match it to the speakers, and you may also be able to buy an EQ adjuster for the speakers and play with your mids and highs on it, there's quite a bit of choices to choose from, but 18" of sub is quite a bit, i dont like the brand too much but it's your choice
definately either get an amp to run the stock speakers or hook them up to the head unit. It seems pretty odd that all that would be run from one amp...Yikes! but that's another topic. If hooked to the headunit the speakers should hold up for quite awhile but if you amp the speakers chances are that you will also need to buy replacement speakers to handle the wattage.
Forget the tweetes in the sub box. They are cheap and useless. Just leave the amp on low and let those 18's do some sweet hittin.
i never have understood why people put tweeters in the back.. a tweeter, as well as the mids are supposed to be audible to the ear, thats why they make tweeters that swivel in order to direct it to your ear and give a better, crisper sound, but i would take out the tweeters, maybe throw them up front somewhere unless they're total crap and u got them for $2 at walmart
out of curiosity, how much did u pay for the 18's and what kind of wattage are they putting out, RMS and peak, and how are u playing all those speakers off that amp? sounds to me like you're overloading it, im assuming this is 4 channel output, so why dont you take out the speakers and tweeters, run them off the headunit and bridge the subs to make ure bass come alive, and that way you can set your amp for the lower Hz's around 32-80 Hz and you'll be bangin then
