56 dash removal

Hey guys , is it possible to remove the dash (just unbolt ,not cutting)? . It appears that it is welded to the cab body. I need to do some metal work on it and it would be much easier if I had it out of the truck. Thanks

It does not unbolt. It is welded in as part of the structure supporting the windshield.

As far as I know, you have to drill the spot welds out. Then just spot weld it back into place. You may even have to brace the cab. -4speed

Just did one after selling the roof to nixer for his project. I would not recommend that you do it. It will ruin the structure and gain you nothing. The only reason I did it is to find out since many have asked before and I just wanted the hump for duals ala 55 C***y in my 56 custom project. There are many welds and double wall as well as thicker areas under there. You would not believe how the cowl and pillars moved after the removal. Plus it was a LOT of work. I would really find another way if to deal. Good luck
