Talking Wow

Well ,I've had my new truck for only a week and let me tell you this thing is awsome. I've had Fords ever since I could drive. Capri,F150,F250,Focus x2, and finally the F350 PSD. My 97 F250HD rode like a tank,, this thing is smooth and a pleasure to drive. Sorry for my giddyness but I'm just so happy with this truck.
Ohh thanks to all you guys on this forum for all the info and fantastic advice you give, It helped me out in picking my truck out, and what to look for.
A Big Thanks to FTE

Me too!

I know what frdfan is going through.....Have had my '04 F-350, 6.0L, crew cab, sb, srw, 6-speed manual, manual transaxle (gotta remember too many) initials/abbreviations in this sport~) about 4 weeks or so (not long enough to make the first payment) and "giddy" is about the right word to describe driving this truck!! Traded an under powered "01 f-150 4.6 cc 2x4 in on my '04. New truck has roughly 3500 miles on when the wife gets back from WV tonight. No problems and this thing tows like I've never experienced. Pull a 16 ft. cargo trailer usually stuffed with a bunch of motorcycles all day long. What a feeling... Thanks for the forum as I'm learning a great deal about deisels. -JB-

Have had mine for 9mos now, and 15,000. Still giddy.

We recently got a 26' Prowler TT (used) & I just got through taking it over to Bend & back from Medford. Go up to Crater Lake & turn left. Summit was 6,000', grade about 7% & some twists thrown in for fun. Truck got 14.6 for that trip averaging 62.38 mph (100 kph) for the whole trip. I even passed a motor home & 5th wheel going up the grade (80 for a bit).

This is my daily driver (work is 30m away) & unloaded I get 18.6-18.9 @ 70 mph / 2000 rpm. Over the hill to Bend, I had to drop it into 4th. 100 klicks became 2500 rpm. Still plenty of throttle left. I could have done 70 up those hills no problem.

I had a 98 F-250 w/ the V-10 & auto tranny (short box). The best that rig would do, downhill w/ tailwind was 11.8 empty. I never towed anything w/ it (between boat & travel trail at the time). It was a great truck, but the PSD is soooooo much better, fuel economy & power.

Have fun with your new truck!!

Many more miles since last post 500km and still giddy. We were out looking at campers. Found a nice 91/2 ft Vanguard ,, older model but in nice shape.

Trying to figure out the camper tydown gongshow on these superdutys.
Any help on this???? Tryed the search but not much on the camper issues.
Belly bars?,,,, not on my truck,,frame is too high. can't run the bar across,, runs into a bunch of stuff.
Anywho ,, my source says it is not a problem and we have the proper parts for your tydowns. OK,, then ,91/2 on an 8ft box is OK?
