clutch "bleeding" off?

i just bought the 87 ranger i was looking at. its got the 2.3/5 speed combo. but the ckutch likes to act up. if you hold in the clutch while its in gear, it will start grabbing untill it eventually kills itself. to me its seems like the clutch is bleeding itself off(or however you want to put it) anyone else ever have this problem? anyone know of any good fixes?

Start by bleeding the system. Any idea if the clutch master has ever been changed?

A common problem that I have had with full size trucks is that either the clutch master cylinder is leaking down or you need to replace the slave cylinder on the clutch fork.... I have run into this on 2 3/4 ford trucks where if you put it in gear and hold the clutch like when you wait on a stop light it will eventually leak down enough to take off if you dont pump it a little bit

i dont think that the slave or master has ever been changed, although i do know that the clutch itself was changed. the bronco i had, had the hydrolic clutch, but was an external slave. when it went out, it just went. how hard is it to bleed an internal? and if worse comes to worse, how much and hard is it to replace it?
