Wiper Motor

On my '92, the wiper motor is going out. I got one from a junk yard, but when I was trying to get the old one out, I couldn't figure out how the wiper motor arm was connected to the rod that goes between the wipers. So eventhough I had all the bolts off, the wiper motor would only come out about an inch. Has anyone else changed there wiper motor and if so how? Do you have to remove the cowl between the hood and windshield to fully release the wiper motor? Thanks for any help.

you have to take the crowl panel off there are screws that hold that weather stripping one and at each end and if i rememmber there are some on top. then ther is a clip that holds on the wiper arms

Thanks for the help joebronco94. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to take off the cowl panel, but it looks like I'm gonna have to.
