I don't think any of the Ford stock stereos have a security feature when you remove the power. Maybe check the fuse and make sure the harness is pluged in tight.
I wasn't aware of any of the US models doing it either, but after I disconnected power to it (checking fuses, etc), it locked up! oh well, I'm going to transfer my other stereo over in a few weeks anyway. Thanks
